All passengers can easily compare the energy consumption, the CO2 emissions and other environmental impacts for airplanes, cars and trains in passenger transport, using the ecopassenger.org platform developed by the International Union of Railways (UIC) in cooperation with the Sustainable Development Foundation (SusDev) based in Rome, the Institute for Energy and Environmental Research (ifeu) in Heidelberg and HaCon Ingenieurgesellschaft GmbH
EcoPassenger increases the passengers' awareness and knowledge of the environmental impact of each mode of transport between selected destinations by applying a transparent, comprehensive and easy-to-use calculator.
