Accidents
Last night (7th November 2007), unknown offenders slit up the upholstery of four seats in a new diesel trainset Desiro. The vandal act took place during the regular operation of the trainset, which served the evening regional train from Plovdiv to Dimitrovgrad. The damage was established by the head of the train crew when the Desiro reached Parvomai, which is one of the intermediate stations along the train route.

This morning at 06:45 a freight lorry crashed into a catenary post, located by the railway line between Graf Ignatievo and Kaloyanovo. The lorry turned over and burst into flame. The catenary line was broken.

Yesterday at about 18:30 a regional train from Stara Zagora to Gorna Oryahovitsa was attacked with stones in the line section between Stara Zagora and Zmeiovo. A passenger was lightly wounded in the head. The train crew called the emergency medical services and the passenger was taken to hospital in Kazanlak.

At 11:10 in the region of Staliiska mahala a fire started in the engine department of the locomotive of regional train No 72 205, running along the route from Brusartsi to Lom.

On Monday (5th March) one more new Desiro of Bulgarian State Railways" EAD was attacked with stones. The incident occurred at about 17:05 between Momchilgrad and Kurdzhali stations.
